LB1140

Give Nebraska believes strongly in open and inclusive employee giving campaigns. Everyone has a right to choose exactly which causes their personal philanthropic dollars support. It’s their money. It’s their choice.

We have seen the impact of restrictive public sector employee charitable giving campaigns. Limited donor choice leads to decreased employee engagement, decreased dollars raised, less funding passing through our communities, less funding available to our nonprofits to support their work, and ultimately less support for fellow Nebraskans. Restrictive campaign harm everyone.

LB 1140, introduced January 19, 2022 by Senator Matt Hansen to change provisions relating to withholding of wages for health and human service agencies and associations, updates the current State Statute (48-224) to streamline the application and authorization process for inclusion of federations and their nonprofit member agencies and associations in public sector employee giving campaigns.

The Business and Labor Committee hearing has been scheduled for LB 1140:

February 28th, 1:30pm Room 1003, 1st Floor of the Capitol
