Serves the arts community working collaboratively with individual artists, arts organizations, social service agencies and other partners who believe that full and equitable access to the arts provides essential opportunities for individuals and organizations to thrive, thereby building a more vibrant community. Championing the arts, connecting people, changing lives.
HOW WE USE YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS:
- $25 supplies materials for five students taking monthly art classes for young adults with autism at Urban Legends Art Studio.
- $50 provides instruction for one hour to participants at our CLCs and arts residencies with community partners like CEDARS and The Bridge.
- $100 funds activities and interactive entertainment at the Lincoln Arts Festival, by providing materials and artist stipends.
- $250 funds a both space, tent, and display materials for one Emerging Artist at the Lincoln Arts Festival.
A STORY FROM OUR AGENCY:
Student Arin would often sit alone in his school's hallway during lunch. A selective mute, he had trouble connecting with peers--until he was asked to help paint a mural for the school. Then, a remarkable transformation occurred. Art became Arin's language, and he blossomed into a full creative and regular collaborator on the mural project. Arin is just one of nearly 6,000 individuals Lincoln Arts empowers with accessible arts experiences each year. We can bring arts programming to even more residents in Lincoln with your support. Older adults, new Americans, people with special needs, the incarcerated--anyone can find connection, resilience, and inclusion through arts. They need only the opportunity to experience them. We strive to foster positive, inclusive arts opportunities and experiences for all through our programming, artist and community partnerships, local events, and arts advocacy efforts.
