Empowering individuals through peer support, education, and advocacy, we promote wellness and recovery, fostering resilient communities through lived experience and innovative programs.
HOW WE USE YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS:
- $25 enables a participant to attend a class in our Wellness and Education Center.
- $50 provides a participant with 2 hours of services with a Certified Peer Support Specialist.
- $100 educates community members in overdose prevention and Narcan administration
- $350 provides an individual with Certified Peer Support certification.
- $500 teaches a participant job readiness skills with 11 week Whole Health Employment Support and Training
A STORY FROM OUR AGENCY:
My mental health and substance use challenges made it difficult to connect with others, as many of my peers had not experienced what I had been through. I still remember walking into my very first support group at Wellbeing Initiative. I arrived late, feeling uncertain, but a kind woman welcomed me warmly. She said, “Oh, are you here for the meeting? We’re here for the meeting. Come on in with us.”
I sat quietly, just listening, until I finally shared a part of my story. A stranger looked me in the eye and said, “You may not believe me, but I was where you are just a year ago. It’s a roller coaster, but it evens out.” For the first time in months, I felt a glimmer of hope.
